#43: If you can’t find God by logic, just read the Quran!

– Someone said this to me:

Let me ask you: other than reading it in your religious texts or learning it from someone else with these beliefs what verifiable evidence can you point me to that would leave no doubt in my mind that the God you profess is 100% real?

Don’t give me your opinion. Give me unambiguous facts that I can verify.

– So, I said:

Given that God is supernatural, you cannot examine God as a fact by definition of both fact and supernatural… this is a linguistic and epistemic issue… so, let us get down to the real business.

I would say that God is axiomatic.

You are starting from the point where you have denied the basic axiom of existence; which puts you in a bad starting position.

Yet, using very straight logic you can reach the conclusion that there is God, One God, and Only One God.

Yet, if you fail, or don’t want, or don’t trust your bias, or is skeptical about your conclusions,

THEN,

You resort to the conclusion that if there is God and if He wants us to worship Him, then He must send a message to explain our purpose and what is needed from us, and how to worship Him.. plus His expectations, and what we should expect in return.

This message should be compelling enough on its own or have with it compelling evidence that it is from Him.

It should have signs that it is authentic and from Him specifically.

i.e. It needs to be self-evident.

… IN MY EXPERIENCE:

This message is the Quran.

He said it is the final message to humanity, and hence since it survives the life of the prophet and hence no more miracles possible without a prophet, He made it such that the message itself is the miracle and the evidence.

I hence would suggest that you read the Quran and make your mind by yourself. In the very first chapter after the opening (called the cow) He warns that concealment (denial) defeats the purpose and causes blindness… I would hence suggest that if you undertake this endeavor that you do it with an open mind and an open heart and without preconceptions.
